Calves Routed After Truck Crash Near Sidney

A cattle truck bound for Brush Colorado overturned near Sidney on Highway 385 causing 4 deaths and 95 calves to roam the town. Posse riders and volunteers corralled the strays through the day, with last calves gathered by 6 PM. Driver Lee Manley, of Carrington NC, was hospitalized with a severe ear laceration and back injuries.

Nebr asks Volunteer Firemen hold North Platte meet

Carrier Pigeon Owner Identified Near Gurley Farm

Mr and Mrs John Schoen of rural Gurley learned the carrier pigeon's owner is E Neppel of Colorado Springs after rain compelled the bird to approach the Schoen farmhouse. Neppel will likely retrieve the bird, which has returned to the farm twice in recent years.
