The sixth district teachers convention will be held in Sidney on October 28 and 29 attracting 1200 to 1500 teachers and families. Record cattle sale sets all time high at Sidney pavilion
Over 1,800 head moved through the ring at the Sidney Livestock Sales Pavilion in the third anniversary sale. Five double deck trucks and 15 rail cars carried cattle to eastern buyers, including a 525 head Carter Wyoming consignment shipped via Union Pacific. Steer calves brought up to 32 cents a pound and heifers 30 to 31 cents with top yearlings at 25.60 from Yampa Colorado. Local demand remained strong and rail connections were praised by manager Dave Truss. Next sale will feature 1,200 grass yearlings from Chimney Canyon Grazing Assn and a fall cow dispersal for Ivan Walker scheduled for Oct 30.
