School Merger Move Is Attempted Again
A new petition seeks merging District 17 of Kimball County with Potter school district in Cheyenne County. A public hearing is set for 10:30 a.m. October 29 at the County Superintendent's Kimball office with Irma Grosshans and Edith Oldershaw presiding. The earlier July petition failed to reach a decision and was dropped temporarily.

Mrs Ed Kieselhorst 40 was found dead in her Sidney apartment about 11 15 Thursday morning from a heart attack. A neighbor noticed a burning odor from the stove and alerted authorities. The body lies at The Craig Mortuary while funeral plans await the official obituary in Tuesday’s Telegraph.

Three Nominees For Queen At Sidney Homecoming

Peirce Not Blamed For Tot's Death
Bruce Wayne Messmer five year old boy died after being struck by an eastbound car on Highway 30 one mile east of Sidney. Driver Wesley Nowotny of Victor Iowa was absolved of blame. Patrolman Mel Busekist said the boy’s group crossed into the path of traffic. Bruce Messmer is survived by his parents and two brothers. Funeral services set for Saturday at Gehrig Funeral Home. Greenwood Cemetery burial.
