J W McDaniel seeks Democratic sheriff nomination in Cheyenne County after primary. He pledges law enforcement for all, open record, and readiness to serve day or night while urging voters to support him. County Judge candidate Henry E Gapen requests re election on judicial record, pledging impartial, diligent service.
At the primary election about two thirds of voters cast ballots. One hundred seven refused to vote for county clerk. Nearly two thirds indicated desire for change, with most naming Knox. She carried Sidney, the largest precinct, while the county margin favored her opponent by 32 and Lodgepole contributed 28 votes against. Knox notes she did not pledge to abide by the primaries result and asks support as a petitioned nonpartisan candidate for county clerk.
The Republican candidate, Miss Anna McFadden, thanks voters for the nomination and pledge to dedicate herself to improving county schools. She cites fifteen years of school work and asks for continued support in the election.
