Father Link attended a forty hours devotion in Alliance from Monday to Wednesday. A ten pound baby girl named Helen Louise arrived September 26 for Mr. and Mrs. Aleck Thompson. Union Pacific train No. 18 now does Cheyenne east local service stopping at all stations once served by No. 6. Mrs. J. E. Niswander and son James of Cheyenne visited Lodgepole Wednesday, ending their stay with Mrs. Stark. Mrs. Stevens left for Wahoo Nebraska after two weeks with her daughter Mrs. Arthur Miller. Mr. and Mrs. E. V. Metz and daughter Vaunita stayed at Peetz Colorado from Saturday to Monday with E. P. Selch and family. Last Friday was candid ates day at the Troelstrup stock sale near Potter with fifteen candidates and other Sidney residents attending.

Local report notes ongoing chicken thefts in the western part of town with expectations that the thief will be caught. Edgar Dedrick and family visited Swan Dedrick’s home from North Platte on Sunday. Mrs. Dedrick and infant stayed longer while Edgar returned to work with the Union Pacific. Cc. B. Kinton of Laura and R. L. Kinton of Shubert, Neb., were in the county capital Tuesday. The Kintons are visiting Cc. B. and discussing business and agricultural conditions.

Homestead Absence Rule Divides Five Months Across Years

Bond election falls short by slim margin
In a $15,000 bond vote last Tuesday the proposition failed by a narrow margin. Supporters earned 155 votes while 115 opposed it, short of the two thirds needed by 25 votes. Promoters say they will attempt the bond again soon.
