Buyers from eight states paid $90,110 for the C. L. Walters and Son Hereford cattle at a ranch dispersal near Sidney. The top price was $5,100 for CW Silver Bocardo 51st. V R Ranch of Dunning, Nebraska was the volume buyer with 26 lots. 175 lots sold. average per lot $515. females averaged $462. five herd sires brought $11,000 total. The eight-state sale included Nebraska, Colorado, Wyoming, South Dakota, Montana, Iowa, Kansas and Minnesota amid a landscape of top quality stock and a lease-driven land sale motive.

The Panhandle forecast calls for fair and warmer conditions this afternoon and tonight. Tuesday brings partly cloudy skies with a small rain chance. Winds shift from southwest to northwest at 15 to 25 mph. Lows tonight near 30 to 40, highs Tuesday in the 60s with rain chances under ten percent. Five day outlook expects near normal to slightly above temperatures, highs in the 60s, lows in the 30s, minimal precipitation.

Steers Hit 32 Dollar Figure At Sidney Auction
A special Sidney Livestock Sales Pavilion sale drew large consignments from local growers with top Angus steers at 418 pounds selling around 32. Medium to good 600 to 700 pounders sold from 23.50 to 24.50, yearling heifers 22.90 to 24.80, butcher cows 15 to 17, canners 13 to 13.75. hogs lacked a top due to no choice weight class, but 240 to 270 pound hogs sold 17 to 17.25. Pavilion spokesman said prices and buyer turnout pleased officials. Another sale is planned for Oct 28.
