Guard Seeks Park Deed For Nebraska Armory Site
The Sidney National Guard seeks the city to deed a park section to the State of Nebraska for an armory building. The council heard the request Monday night but took no action. City Attorney L M Clinton noted the city can deed certain park areas if desired, and the council will review future park expansion needs before deciding. The guard has asked state officials to inspect the site to gauge suitability if action is favorable.

Man Found Dead In Yard Near Potter Woodpile
Sidney Keyes 65 of Potter was found dead Tuesday night near a woodpile at his home about 15 miles from Potter. Cheyenne County Sheriff W. W. Schulz reported. Death attributed to heart failure after a neighbor and police search. Keyes, born November 29, 1888, in Tie Siding, Wyoming, was a World War One veteran and survived by two sons, August and James, and brother Hiram. Funeral arrangements followed at Gehrig Funeral Home with burial in Laramie Friday.

Ohio Oil Co has moved a drilling rig into Keith County to meet a drilling requirement in the Big Springs field area. The No 1 Welpton is located 330 feet from the north and west lines in section 27 13 41. The Hoagland in Cheyenne County was plugged and abandoned last Monday. The No 1 Mohatt in Doran Farms west of Sidney shows 140 barrels daily in tests, with 2 percent water. The Scherer No 1 in Rei mers area near Gurley is on production at 122 barrels daily with 0.6 percent water. The Shaw No 1 gas well in West Sidney is being blown daily to prepare for a volume test.
