Curtain Falls on Sidney Fox Theatre After 34 Years
The final performance at Sidney’s old Fox Theatre marked the end of an era. Opened in 1917 by Noah Brewster, the venue hosted legends from Birth of a Nation to Gone With The Wind and served as a community hub for home talent and silent to talkie transitions. Managers recalls Blizzard, 1949 blizzard, and steady showmanship through decades. The shuttering signals a permanent closing as the city moves to a newer theatre, while memories endure in local history.
