Mrs James L McIntosh 87 Dies After Long Illness
Mrs James L McIntosh 87 lifelong Cheyenne County resident dies Sunday at Memorial Hospital after two months as patient heart condition following hip fracture. Born Rose Mary Pavlat Feb 10 1877 Cedar Rapids Iowa she moved to Cheyenne County 80 years ago. She married James L McIntosh in 1898 who died 1935 leaving a family including two sons McKinley and James G and a daughter Mrs Robert Johnston. Survived by three sisters three brothers a granddaughter and many great grandchildren with church activities noted. Funeral set at St Patricks Church with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Rosary at Gehrig Son Funeral Home the evening before.

Well Known Gurley Man Is Victim
Elmer Larson 75, a Gurley resident for 46 years, died Saturday night at Memorial Hospital after a stroke. Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Grace Lutheran Church of Sun ey with Rev. Harold A. Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Sidney, under Gehrig & Son Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Larson’s six sons. Memorials may go to Heart Fund of Grace Lutheran Church. Larson, born January 5, 1889, in Swede Home Polk County Nebraska, married Ellen E. Requist March 26, 1918, and they moved to Gurley in 1918, farming near Gurley before retirement nine years ago. Survived by widow, six sons Dolan F of Gurley, DeVere A of Arvada Colorado, Donald C of Potter, Duane R of Holyoke, Delbert H of Potter, Dennis D of Gurley, 13 grandchildren, one great grandchild, four brothers Arthur, William B, Walter of Stromsburg and Elof of Mount Vernon Washington, and one sister Mrs Amanda Anderson of Stromsburg. One brother preceded him in death.

Eldred ranch cows from Sandhills accounted for 218 head, raising prices to as high as 14.20 per unit amid a generally weaker market. Top offerings included 24 for steer calves, 21.15 for heifer calves, and 20.80 for yearling steers as eastern buyers attended amid harvest duties.

Motor Vehicle Homicide Charged In Fatal Crash
Sterling born Miss Virginia L. Rios 23, died early Sunday near Lodgepole when a 1958 Mercury driven by Santana G. Flores, 27, Ovid Colorado, left Route 30 and struck a bridge railing. Deuel County plans motor vehicle homicide charges. Flores walked seven miles to a farm before call. He will be arraigned Tuesday. A week end of accidents also reported by Nebraska Safety Patrol with Calf strike near Sidney and other one vehicle injuries.
