Sidney council weighs six day openings and names new mayor
The Sidney city council started work on a Sunday closing ordinance and named Rugy Munderloh as mayor to succeed Ferris Preble. City Attorney L M Clinton was authorized to draft a six day week opening rule for groceries. A 750 person public hearing favored Sunday openings with few opponents. Munderloh, a 20 year county resident and groceryman, has held several civic roles. Dean Wilson became housing authority chair and Kermit Moore as vice chair.

Minister Morgan dies at 74 in Lodgepole
The Rev Morgan a Nazarene minister born October 27, 1884 in Montague County Texas died at home in Lodgepole. Funeral Friday at 2 pm from the Church of the Nazarene in Sidney with Reverend Cart officiating. Burial in Electra Texas. Survivors include Ina his wife daughters Bertha Hobbs Gertrude Eaton Vicki Durham Grace Priest sons Bill Paul Arthur Morgan and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He previously lived in Scottsbluff and retired to Lodgepole in April.
