Ralph Gerke Dies In Auto-Bridge Crash Near Gordon
Ralph Gerke aged 54, former Sidney resident, was killed early yesterday when he ignored a detour sign on a highway project near Gordon and struck a bridge abutment. He was construction foreman on the site. Funeral plans are pending with Gehri g and Son Funeral Home. Survivors include six children led by Darlene a student nurse at West Nebraska General Hospital and a brother Howard Gerke who farms in Dalton.

Sheriff Wendell Lils says 27 year old Harlan Hunter, an Indian, escaped from Sheridan County jail in Rushville Friday afternoon. Hunter, recently sentenced to two and a half years for breaking and entering, is described as 6 feet 2 inches, about 170 pounds, wearing a light shirt and jeans, no coat or hat.

Funeral Set Tuesday For Donald Reid
Donald R. Reid of Bridgeport an employee at Sioux Ordnance Depot died from injuries from a fork lift accident at the depot ramp in Sidney. Funeral services are set for 9 a.m. Tuesday at the Assembly of God Church in Sidney with burial at Crown Hill Cemetery in Denver. He was born May 10 1927 in Fay Oklahoma and survived by his wife four children, his parents, a sister and a brother.
