A truck loaded with stock from Potter to Sterling rolled in a Peetz highway bar pit at 2 am Wednesday four miles north of No 138 junction in front of George Hofmann home. Large Crew Of Men At Work On Curbing And Gutter Project
The city of Sidney will employ about 55 workers on curb and gutter projects in the south and west parts by early next week. Forty seven were on the payroll Monday with nine more joining from Potter WPA. The program covers 26 blocks in improvement district No 5 and plans to expand to 45 blocks with a second district. Mayor Roche expects open weather to speed completion by spring and oiling of over 50 blocks next summer. Tenth avenue oiling will wait for warm weather and has used borrowed equipment to avoid winter closure. District No 7 may form before spring to cover north and east areas.

Scottsbluff Trucker Suffers Serious Injuries In Pit Fall
Ervin Tollock, a Scottsbluff truck driver, was badly injured Tuesday night after falling eight feet into a grease pit at a local garage. He sustained four fractured ribs and serious chest injuries and was listed in serious condition at Roche Hospital. He entered the dark garage around 10 30 p m and did not see the pit beneath the car usually parked over it.

William Nelck Dies at 68 A Pioneer Resident
William Nelck 68 longtime resident of the east Gurley community died after a long illness. Born December 22, 1867 he lived in Franklin County until 1884 and married Catherine Shelley in Bloomington in 1897. The couple homesteaded in Cheyenne County and had two children Vera who died in 1931 and Mary Lou who survives with the mother. He is also survived by two brothers Charles Gurley and Fred Minnesota and sister Mrs Bertha Anderson Dixon Il. Funeral services Sunday at 2 pm from Rice Funeral Home with Rev J J Sheaff of the Methodist church presiding. Interment Sid ney Greenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers named.
