AAA advises motorists to park in a garage if possible or face winds with the back to a building and hood covered. Before starting ensure lights and radio are off, turn on ignition, depress the accelerator briefly, then half set. Do not pump the accelerator. If flooded, shut off ignition, floor the accelerator for one minute to drain excess fuel, keep engine well tuned and battery charged.
