Nebraska State Education Association District VI Convention Planned
The District VI convention will be held in Sidney Oct 23 24 25 with 1000 to 1500 teachers from 11 Panhandle and four Sand Hills counties. Distinguished speakers include Dr Gerald S Craig Dr Harold Taylor Mrs Betty Roadman and Dr William G Carr. Officers to be chosen include Allen T High and William Davenport for president William Ptacek and Leslie Chamberlain for vice president Norval Trout and David Speedlin for secretary Lauren Schwisnod and Mel Everingham for treasurer. The event features sessions lectures and a banquet with The Courious Savage play and a dance at the National Guard Armory.

Cheyenne County treasurer reports total receipts for twelve months ending June 30, 1957 at 2,968,134.3 dollars. Tax income totaled 1,935,952.08 dollars while non tax collections added 972,182. The year improved the county balance from 1,039,394.99 to 1,282,003.66 and earned fees reached 33,799.73 dollars. Gas tax allocations totaled 90,96.51 with 62,371.52 to the county road fund and 217,820.59 to the county bridge fund.
