Man thinks he's in Texas amid county rescue
Cheyenne County Deputy Sheriff Kermit Brumbaugh responded to an emergency at the county dynamite storage shack west of Sidney. He found a man unconscious with a bottle of wine near empty. The man claimed the name Brown and insisted he was in Texas. Brumbaugh plans to sober him up and file a charge of intoxication.

Youths Fined After Tuesday Drink Spree
Two young men from Chappell appeared before Cheyenne County Judge C. W Smith yesterday on multiple offenses from a Tuesday night drinking bout. Robert Arnold, 18, was fined 120 dollars and costs for DUI, driving without a license, and hit and run, with a six month license suspension. His companion Wayne Fisher, 21, was fined 50 dollars and costs for procuring liquor for a minor.

A surge in delinquent personal property tax accounts in Cheyenne County yielded 1,287 distress warrants this morning from the county treasurer. Warrants cover unpaid taxes for 1956 to 1953 with an estimated uncollected value over $50,000. Last year 886 warrants were issued. $28,691.66 was collected, excluding partial payments. Sidneyite's Son Injured in One-Car Crash
Osborn 29 of Sidney sustained injuries in a one car crash on Highway 2 near Whitman Themishan yesterday afternoon. Allen Heng 25 of Nebraska City, a University of Nebraska student and the car driver, died. Heng was with two other Nebraska students headed for Crawford for deer hunting. Osborn is expected to be released from a Lincoln hospital late today. The car skidded 602 feet from loss of control to the final rest after overturning twice.

Bernard Kuhlmier, 37, ex-Sidneyite and pilot for Lebanese International Airways, died when his twin-engine C-46 exploded and sank ten miles off Beirut after reporting a fire. The Beirut bound plane carried 15 boxes of Kuwait government gold. Kuhlmier, a B-17 veteran with 111 missions, had ties to Plains Oil Mills and a Sidney cafe, and leaves a wife and four children.

Civil Action Begun Over Oil Producer And Prior Lease
Verne Jillian and William T Sharman sue 17 out-state individuals and firms in Cheyenne County District Court over an oil lease and prior lease. The 26-15-48 southeast quarter elevated a lease valid Aug 28, 1954 to Oct 1, 1954 and as long as oil or gas produced. Production ceased September 1956, lease terminated, but defendants have not granted a new lease, clouding title and blocking new leases.

Appeals Planned From Police Court
Two Sidney Police Court convictions were headed for appeals today. Dennis Ross 21 was arrested at 1 15 am in a case charged with intoxicated creating a disturbance and resisting arrest. Ross pleaded guilty to resisting arrest and innocent to being drank and causing a disturbance. Judge Glenn Greenlee ordered 30 days jail on the first count and fines of 10 and 25. Ross said the sentence excessive and plans to appeal. Norman Trobaugh indicated he would appeal district court a 10 fine and costs after a hearing where he was charged with intoxication.
