Last Days of Conference and Aged Citizen Obituary
Last Friday and Saturday the M E Conference heard Florence Maskell speak on missionary work with Mrs Beck and Miss Beck providing songs. Dr T C Iliff lectured on the Mormon issue and church extension donations totaling 35000 dollars with 45000 dollars in loans aided church buildings. Rev Dr Iliff spoke again on the Boys of 61 and old soldiers shared memories while Sabbath services featured Bishop Wilson sermon and love feast. Walter H Lawrence an aged citizen of Sidney died September 20 in his ninety first year after long Methodist life. Funeral held at home with Rev Hageman officiating. Burial in village cemetery.

The Hayes Eames Elevator Co of Lincoln will own the 8500 bushel capacity plant. Workmen stand ready on the ground waiting for Union Pacific papers expected with each train. Credit goes to the Commercial Club which promotes unity as strength and hopes to land a second elevator.

No New Bridge at Present Owing to Lack of Funds
The North River Bridge project is temporarily abandoned due to insufficient funds. The county bridge fund holds 3200 dollars, with 1500 needed to replank Bridgeport, leaving 1700 for repairs across the county. The board cites railroad tax delinquencies and near 16000 dollars of county indebtedness, delaying any action on building a new North Platte bridge.
