The Nebraska Telephone Company has rented the second floor of the Variety Store in Sidney to install a modern central exchange. The new eight-position system will serve four local business lines and four toll lines, use repeaters to improve long distance, and remove the need for ringing. At a Sidney Mills stockholders meeting held at Cash Grocery Ed Litz led the session. D R Owens and J H W Irwin were among officers and a committee was named to arrange permanent organization and investigate a mill site.
