Beets to Fuel Great Western Harvest of 1965

Great Western Sugar Company expects over 3.5 million tons of sugar beets this fall for 15 factories across Montana Wyoming Colorado Kansas and Nebraska. Harvest begins Oct 1 in Montana and northern Wyoming Oct 7 in Colorado and Kansas Oct 8 in Nebraska. About 8,500 growers will harvest 236,700 acres with 1,800 permanent staff rising to 5,000 during the campaign.
