At Hemingford a meeting debated coyote control with sportsmen and a biologist opposing poisoning. A plan was adopted to form a Box Butte coyote control board funded by 20c per head on breeding sheep, aiming for $1,500, with Harold Tinsley as president Otto Uhrig vice president and Don Hansen secretary treasurer.
Midwec Corporation Oshkosh moves toward initial small scale output with pilot plant planned before Christmas. R John Townley opens office in Scott-Jenkins building and Mrs Cliff Polke Jr becomes first employee as secretary. Full scale electronics production to follow. Big Springs area also gets dial phone service with new offices in service Sunday and a 600 amp 50 volt DC motor generator anticipated soon.
Dr. A L Miller steps back from 1960 bid for Congress citing health reasons. The Interior Department official in Washington writes Republican chair Charles Thone that he will not campaign, clearing the field for several Nebraskan GOP hopefuls including Monroe Bixler Tom Coffey Bill Smith and Havens Smith among others and signaling a crowded race in the Fourth District.
The Sioux Ordnance Depot Maintenance Branch earned a plaque from Depot Commander Col Harvey Bower for an eight-year run without a disabling injury. The award honored the General Equipment and Repair and Material Handling Equipment Sections for work amid industrial hazards including machinery welding acid and above ground tasks. Personnel named include E V Bock E Covall FE H Ehlers Sr Perry Howe J A Rechter and many others.
Tom Turner of the Fish and Wildlife Service will discuss coyote control at the Cheyenne Deuel County Sheep Produce meeting. Lemoyne Jonson, chair, issued a special invitation for the gathering set for Thursday December 3 at the Elevator in Chappell.

The national commander Louis G Feldmann of Hazleton Pa will visit Scotts Bluff on December 7. He will attend a department commanders meeting and an evening banquet and dance with state VFW leader Cash Adcock announced Saturday.
Santa Claus will land by air at 3:30 p.m. Saturday in Sidney to aid the local fire department in gathering used toys for repair and distribution to Cheyenne County families. The visit, sponsored by the Sidney Squadron of the Civil Air Patrol, includes an advance CAP landing party, a portable public address system, the Sidney High Band, Major P J Heaton Jr., and several young helpers.
Nebraska reportedly remains death free after the Thanksgiving holiday period if no traffic deaths occur from weekend injuries. In Sidney area a Gurley man Ernest I Deaver 25 sideswiped guard rails on an overpass east of Sidney causing $330 vehicle damage and $20 rail damage. No injuries were reported and statewide toll stood at 319, up from 305 a year ago.

The plan links agriculture to national defense and foreign aid while backing a two price parity, 100 percent parity price support, a wheat reserve, foreign markets, and industrial research.
Washington attorneys William C. Burt and Clarence Davis will present Nebraska s case against Frontier Airlines. Rush Clark announced at Chadron Friday night during a meeting on Frontier s plans to cut service in Nebraska. Nebraska asked CAB for an immediate conference. State Aeronautics Director Jack Obbink sent a telegram to CAB chair James Durfee seeking a conference in the week of Dec 7.
Lincoln Governor Ralph G Brooks says Frontier Airlines announced four daily flights cut in Nebraska as a trial balloon and will not face a state case unless Frontier files with the CAB. The CAB told the governor only a press release has been received.
