E E Walker of Siar was fined $100 Tuesday in Chevenn County Court on a bad check charge. The court noted insufficient funds. Walker pleaded and paid restitution to the complainant.

Thurow Named Cheyenne County March of Dimes Director

Jack Thurow of Sidney was named Cheyenne County campaign director for the 1960 New March of Dimes drive. Ted R Hughes announced the chairmen and stressed the foundation's intensified focus on scientific medical research to combat polio and related diseases. He noted Nebraska had unusually high new polio cases this year and that most fatalities were adults ages 23 to 54.

Legion Official To Boost Local Membership Drive

Car Rolls into Ditch on US Highway 30 injures driver

The son of an SO couple, 19 year old Robert F McFadden escaped with minor cuts and bruises when his car went off US Highway 30 nine miles east of Chapell. He was treated at Sidney Memorial Hospital after a truck driver brought him in. State Trooper Robert Zapp assessed about $300 damage to the vehicle.

Sidney Driver Fined After Blind Intersection Crash

Richard Moore 17 pleaded guilty to reckless driving and was fined 25 dollars in Sidney police court after a two car collision at a blind 11th Ave intersection that sent three people to Sidney Memorial Hospital. Riders in the Axford car Chery Ann 3 and Cynthia 2 were injured plus Mrs. George Fischer 2. The other driver Kenneth Axford 25 was uninjured as was Moore. The intersection at 11th and Jackson has no lights or signs.

Chamber Officials Study Pioneer Village Setup

Chamber President Ed Bauman and Moran toured the Warp Pioneer Village historical museum in Minden Nebraska on Tuesday. They discussed creating a historical museum in Sidney noting the Minden project took four years to plan and opened after extensive study. They said a Sidney museum would offer wonderful opportunities for the area.

North Platte Chamber Picks Jerry Pulliam as Manager

Jerry Pulliam, 33, named manager of the North Platte Chamber of Commerce after seven candidates were interviewed. He has been secretary manager at Sterling since fall 1957 and succeeds Charles Chase, who resigned to become executive secretary of the Associated Industries of Nebraska.
