Pioneer Daniel Herboldsheimer Dies At 88 In Potter
Daniel Herboldsheimer known as Dan Heimer, 88, longtime Cheyenne county resident, died at his son Dr Herboldsheimer’s home south of Potter after a lengthy illness. A Pennsylvania native, he lived in Iowa and Hastines before settling nine miles northeast of Potter. Funeral services were held at Potter Methodist Church with burial in Potter cemetery. Survived by seven children C P, John Potter Elgin Oregon Iva Smith Sidney Louisa Scheele Dix Pete Nelson north of Potter and W D Mathewson south of Potter. wife died in 1911.

Vets Can Get Driving Licenses Without Examination

Chiesenne county forms a veterans aid committee to help World War II veterans reenter civilian life. Gordon Bale heads the full time service office in the city auditorium building, with a broad advisory group from agencies and organizations including the VA, American Legion, VFW, Red Cross, Extension Service, and others. Three precincts hit quota early in Victory Loan drive
County Chairman Glenn Spearow announced that Bj Huntsman rural precincts in Cheyenne County, including Pleasant View Potter and Eagle, likely will exceed their goals this week. John Armstrong Loses Right Foot in Railway Accident
John Armstrong a veteran Union Pacific rail line worker and lead car inspector, had his right foot severed when he stepped into the path of a backing engine at the 13th avenue crossing. The incident occurred last night as the engine moved into the main yards from the west yards, about three miles per hour. He was taken to Roche Hospital for emergency treatment with doctors in surgery and no condition reported by seven thirty.

Stolen Ford Recovered Near Blair With Shotgun
A 1939 Ford belonging to Fred Vach stolen Sunday from a farm near Potter was recovered at Blair. Deputy Sheriff Braasch prepared to go to Blair to recover the car and question a suspect. A shotgun stolen with the car was also recovered, authorities at Blair said.
