Pirates of Penzance to be staged by Sidney High School
Sidney high school chorus will present Pirates of Penzance at the U S A theatre next Friday night December 5. The production follows last winter’s Mikado and features a large chorus with principal roles by Cecil Jones Mabel and Franklin Hornaday Frederic and Ross Barker pirate king. The show is a satire on Victorian Britain with acts set on a Cornwall coast and a ruined chapel by moonlight.

Next Sidney Bargain Day Set for January 21
The Sidney Merchants Association decided to hold the next monthly Trade Extension and Friends Making day on Wednesday January 21, with a postponement for December noted. Relatives of Car Victim Live in Sidney
An automobile crash eight miles east of North Platte killed George Greenfield. The Lincoln sedan driver, Cambin of Orange City Iowa, and Maxwell roadster driver Carl Neese were involved. Greenfield, born July 30, 1916 at North Loup, was unmarried. His father filed a $25,000 damages suit. Burial was in North Platte cemetery.

Beautifying Cemetery Adds Grass plots to Sidney Grounds
Councilman William Breternitz notes a block south of Sidney cemetery has been plowed and sown to grass. The area will be laid out next spring into uniform lots with driveways and paths. Trees may be planted, increasing lot value. The site, part of the cemetery, was unused until last week. Improvements promise higher sale value, and this year the water system cost 1200 and a sexton was kept for 180 for the season.

A committee led by C H Ledbetter Mrs W K Hodgkin Rev 8 Light County Superintendent Fletcher and Superintendent Liebendorfer is appointed to determine if illiterates exist in Cheyenne county and count them. Based on the 1920 census there were thirty eight illiterates possibly Mexicans and the committee requests reports from anyone aware of such cases.
