W E Chase of Western Electrical Co and Chas Callahan visited Sidney to plan an electric light plant. A 60 kW dynamo powered by a 75 hp steam engine, 32 candlepower lights for streets, and all night service are proposed. Union Pacific may use the system for depots and shops if investment justifies. A stone powerhouse may be built behind the Callahan block to operate within sixty days.
Last Tuesday evening the Beebes welcomed many friends to a card party with fourteen games and a delightful lunch. Prizes were awarded to Miss McIntosh and Mrs Callahan in the ladies’ divisions and to Mr Miles, Mr Callahan, and Mr Lathrop in the gentlemen’s, marking a successful social gathering.
A Thursday evening Thanksgiving dance hosted by the Gymnasium manager drew a large, jolly but orderly crowd that danced late into the night. Sidney Orchestra provided the music and Landlord Foster of the Commercial Hotel served oysters to appreciative dancers. Plans call for monthly dances through winter.
Mrs Ernest Kruse hosted a pleasant luncheon last Tuesday at her south town home in pink and green decorations. Following luncheon a could win tasting contest awarded first prize to Mrs Callahan, second to Mrs Cummings, and consolation to Mrs Jones.

The Ma jestic Range Co of St Louis staged a cooking exhibition at Essigs store in Sidney on Monday to Wednesday. Mr C C Hoffman demonstrated expert technique and served biscuits in 24 minutes. Miss Maggie Snyder assisted and Miss Sophia Mabr of Mercer won the carving set in a closing drawing.
John A. Johnson of Potter and Alma Johnson of Kimball county were married by Judge Tucker on Monday November 21 at his Sidney office. The Telegraph joins friends in wishing the couple a full measure of marital bliss.
Wade Wilson and Flora E. Johnson of Lewellen Devel County received a marriage license from Judge Tucker on Thursday and were married that afternoon at the Metropolitan hotel by Rev Inselman of the German Lutheran Church.
