Sidney Telegram notes a busy week with precinct visits and industry visits. Notables include Colorado roper Irving Monnett and Dix resident Geo Cunningham visiting family. A farmers institute is planned and gym opened for winter classes.
The community debates electric lighting with plans to be reviewed by a practical electrician visiting Sidney. A contemplated franchise expansion by the Telephone Company could authorize an electric light plant, backed by a stock company formed with local capitalists. Charles Callahan of the First National Bank has shown interest, boosting optimism.
At one o'clock Wednesday afternoon in Sidney the marriage of John E. Shelly and Miss Anna F. Folkers occurred with Rev. J. S. Leamer officiating. Shelly, a ranchman near Dalton, gains a host of friends. Folkers has lived near Dalton and spent recent years in Sidney. The couple will reside on the groom’s ranch near Dalton. The Telegraph extends congratulations.
The Epworth League hosts the winter lecture series formerly arranged by the public school. Mrs. W. C. Chilton opened with a reading at the M. E. Church to strong audience attention as the balance of the course promises richer offerings. The Peterson Sisters will give the December 13 concert. Season tickets for the remaining events cost 1.25. President Roonvelts majority in Ne braska is about 80,000. Will Judd arrived from Redington on business Thursday. Mrs. Knox visited rural schools Thursday and Friday. Sheriff Lea made an official call into the north river country Monday. David Shutta and G W Sickles were from Redington on Wednesday. Commissioner of Pensions Ware has resigned effective January 1 ar. Ola Nelson from Trognitz precinct looked after business in Sidney Thursday. Mr. Burke, formerly cashier of the Bayard Bank, to open a bank at Oshkosh soon. Lathrop planned to enlarge the telephone plant in Julesburg. First National Bank report shows prosperity. Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Hubeck from Lodgepole precinct shopped in Sidney Thursday. Carl Wagoner paid taxes for 1904 increasing County Treasurer Greenlee’s surplus. Thanksgiving service in Lutheran church Thursday morning at 10:30 led by Rev. J. F. Hageman.
The Sidney Orchestra hosts a Thanksgiving dance on Thursday evening November 24 at the Gymnasium Hall. Good music will be provided and a fine time guaranteed. All BORe invited and welcome. ladies free.
Lock Smith of Davison precinct traveled to Iowa and Illinois to visit old friends. He hopes to return and spend many years among Cheyenne county friends.
Mrs. C C Callahan hosted a refined afternoon reception at her Morrow addition home on Thursday. About invitations were issued. Yellow and white chrysanthemum decor, fragrant refreshments in the dining room, and graphophone music created a gala atmosphere.

Railroad activities report two carloads of cattle shipped to South Omaha by Classie Lewis Willson on Tuesday and two carloads of county horses sent to St. Louis by Arthur Cohn on Wednesday. Sept W L Park spent hours inspecting U P company property. Beginning December 1 Union Pacific and Burlington railroads will impose daily storage charges on all freight at depots for shipments over forty eight cars.
Articles of incorporation filed for the Colorado Nebraska Idaho Wyoming railway with 10 million capital. The line would run 1084 miles from Colby Kansas to Boise Idaho via Sidney Nebraska crossing major rails and passing rich coal lands and oil fields in Wyoming.
