16000 Widows And Orphans Get Vet Pensions In State
Nebraska veterans widows and orphans totaling over 16000 receive nonservice connected pensions from the Veterans Administration. About 14000 will get annual income questionnaires with their pension checks due on or around December 1 1964. A law change drops the annual questionnaire for custodians of children. An election card will be mailed to Nebraska claimants under the protected pension law to consider PL 88 664. Questionnaires must be returned to the VA Lincoln office by January 31 1965 or the February pension check will be withheld. Mr Ells Cheyenne County Veterans Service Officer offers assistance and asks claimants with cards and questionnaires to bring both to his office in the Courthouse basement. Office hours five AM to five PM weekdays.
