George Forsythe Dies Suddenly Last Week
George Forsythe formerly managed the O P Skaggs store in Sidney died at Cheyenne Veterans Hospital after a tonsil operation. He suffered a fatal heart attack during the procedure. Funeral services were held in Cheyenne, with interment planned for his Iowa home. Attending the service were Mr and Mrs J W Nielsen and Mr and Mrs W D Powell.

Federal Writers' Project researchers note German Russian settlers near Sutton in the 1880s lived in sun dried adobe houses. Bricks were clay and straw, cooling in summer and warming in winter. A hollow partition with roof smoke outlet replaced a stove. Fuel came from straw or corn stalks placed in a fire cavity and burned out, heating bricks for even room temperatures.
