Cheyenne county farmers who insured their 1939 winter wheat must pay premiums by Saturday November 19 to keep coverage. Edmund Lane Rites Set This Afternoon
Edmund C. Lane 72 of Dalton died at a Sidney hospital after a stroke. Born near London England he came to the United States at 17 with his parents and settled in the western frontier. He married Emma Sage in Geneva Nebraska on August 20 1892. Survivors include his widow two children five grandchildren and several siblings. He taught school in Milligan Exeter Geneva and other Nebraska towns before retiring.

Fire damages filtering residue behind Model Cleaners
A filtering machine residue caught fire in the alley behind Model Cleaners Wednesday morning but was quickly extinguished before reaching the building. A cylinder was slightly damaged while officials suspect a cigarette or truck backfire ignited the inflammable residue. An employee from The Telegraph used a extinguisher and the fire department arrived promptly to control the blaze.

Dentists Convene At Alliance This Week
Thirty five western Nebraska dentists and their companions attended an all day Alliance Elks club meeting. Dr Walter C McBride of Detroit specialist in children's dentistry urged greater focus on child mouth hygiene and regular visits. He advised first dentist visit at age 3 or 4 and examinations every four months to prevent later dental problems. Nebraska farmers see higher than average outputs across most crops in the November crop report from the Nebraska Cooperative Crop and Livestock Reporting Service. Corn is placed at over 96 million bushels, up about 14 million from 1937 but only 54 percent of the ten year average. Winter and spring wheat, oats, barley, rye, grain sorghum, dry beans, sugar beets, fruits, and grapes show various gains over 1927-36 averages, while alfalfa hay, tame hay, wild hay, and potatoes run below the ten year benchmark. Jobless Insurance Sessions Scheduled in Nebraska
R T Malone director of the Nebraska Unemployment Compensation division announced a series of seventeen educational meetings for employers workers and the public to prepare for unemployment insurance payments starting January 1939. The talks run November 28 to December 20 across the state and aim to explain the law and ensure prompt benefit payments for eligible workers with 1938 covered employment. About 150 000 to 160 000 Nebraska workers have earned wage credits since the law took effect. Invitations will go to 3 300 Nebraska employers with eight or more employees.

Biers Services Held At Dalton Presbyterian Church
Funeral services were held Wednesday at Dalton Presbyterian Church for Andrew H. Biers pioneer Morrill county resident who died at his home northwest of Ken. Rev. Kenneth Ves led the service. Interment followed in Dalton cemetery. Biers homesteaded in Morrill county in 1910 and died on his homestead at age 69 years, one month, and 11 days. He was born October 2, 1869, in Coffee county, Kansas. Surviving wife Ina May Biers, married February 20, 1898 in Burlington, Missouri, and three daughters Ina B. Gard, Christina Rose, and Ethel B. Russell, and three sons Jasper A. of Plymouth, with others implied.
