Sidney faces slower population growth and turning point

City officials note census trends show Sidney’s population stabilizing after earlier declines. They cite fewer housing units since 1970, aging housing in Sioux Villa, and a birth-rate drop while stressing local growth in jobs, downtown activity, and a potential future boost from WNTC and farm economy improvements. Projections from the Bureau of Business Research suggest modest county gains with Scotts Bluff leading county growth.
