WNTC students remodel housing units on campus
A Western Nebraska Technical College building construction class of 12 students under instructor Jean Phillips is interior remodeling 74 student housing units on campus. The project, a brainchild of WNTC President Dr Charles Michael, updates 1940s era units originally built for Sioux Army Depot workers. Work includes tile, drywall, carpet, door blocks, shelves, and closet doors across three to five apartments per building.

Alliance May Lose Cattle Capital Title as Auction Co Closes

Santa to ride smoother sleigh in Sidney events
Santa Claus returns for sleigh rides at the courthouse square in Sidney beginning this Sunday with sessions from 1 to 5 pm on Sundays and 10 am to 12 pm and 1 to 3 pm on Saturdays. Winter weather returns to Nebraska with heavy snow warnings
The National Weather Service issued heavy snow warnings for the Panhandle and extreme southwest Nebraska through Friday night as two low pressure systems in Northwest Kansas and Oklahoma bring snow. Temperatures early Friday ranged from the mid 20s in Chadron to 40 in Omaha with northerly winds 10 to 30 mph. 4 inches possible in western Nebraska, 1 to 2 inches in central and southeast sections, with a drop to 5 to 15 above by Saturday morning.
