The Nebraska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission approved five cases and reported 1,121,433 barrels produced in September at 37,381 barrels daily, with Sleepy Hollow Field in Red Willow County contributing over 200 thousand barrels.

Brake failure blamed for Sidney three car crash
A three car collision in Sidney at 3 45 p m Wednesday was blamed on brake failure in one car. Judith Banks 16 drove north on 11th approaching from the rear as two cars stopped for a red light at 11th and Illinois. Banks said she applied brakes but they failed. Her car struck Diana Zwicki 17 which struck Catherine Andrejewski 17.

Clerk Edward Doty described a white man about 5 11 and 160 pounds who struck him and fled with about $200 after requesting beer. The weapon, a broken fishing-pole handle, was left at the scene.
