City Asked To Locate Underpass In Union Pacific Subway Decision

Methodists Form Fisherman's Club at Local Church

A Fisherman's Club of 40 charter members has been organized at the Methodist Church with Ralph Welch as president and Lenhart Schubert as secretary. Membership is based on bringing one or more persons to Christ and the Church, with several charter members credited for as many as ten conversions during the Evangelistic Advance week.

Early Morning Intersection Crash Damages Reported

About 7:50 Monday morning an intersection collision at 12th and Forest caused total damages over 200 dollars. J A Fastenau in a 1947 Pontiac and Cliff Kilgore in a 1946 Mercury were involved. Icy roads blamed. damages estimated 50 on the Fastenau vehicle and 150 on Kilgore’s. No injuries reported.

Farmer Faces Tax Evasion Charge in Colorado

Peetz farmer Rafiel Raddatz was arraigned before U S commissioner Harold S Oakes in Denver on charges of attempting to evade income tax. Bond set at 2500 dollars after he allegedly failed to pay 8267 dollars in taxes from wheat sales on 678 acres near the Nebraska border, per U S Attorney Henry E Lutz.

Missionary Paul D Kennedy to Speak at Sidney Church

The Rev Paul D Kennedy and Mrs Kennedy, longtime missionaries to the Philippines, will address congregants at First Christian Church Sidney on Sunday November 26 at 730 pm. They began service in 1922 and again after a 1913-14 stay, with Kennedy focusing on rehabilitation efforts in the islands and involvement in Bible training work during wartime recovery. Noted Lincoln Nebraska natives, they are Cotner College graduates with further studies at Butler Yale and Hartford Divinity schools.

Civic Club Will Elect Officers At November Meeting

The final 1950 quarterly Chamber of Commerce meeting will be at Yendis Cafe on Wednesday night November 29 at 7 30. Dinner precedes the business session which will elect 1951 officers. Judy LeBar Reaches Her 11th Birthday

Judy LeBar of Broadwater recently turned 11 after a life changing heart operation at Children's Memorial Hospital Chicago about a year ago. Funds from the Scottsbluff Elks lodge arranged by Leonard Harrison supported her care. The party at Broadwater Lutheran church basement was attended by seventeen Luther League friends, with mother Mrs Louis Berta and teacher Mrs Dan West assisting. A Chicago doctor’s check up showed good progress, and Judy was brought to the city by her grandmother Mrs Harm Hippen of Lodgepole.

Shell Oil Co reported 500 barrels daily from a North Sterling wildcat east of Yenter. Youth Rally In Sidney Draws 120 Attendees

About 120 youths from Kimball Potter Chappell Lodgepole and Sidney gathered Sunday night at the Sidney Methodist church for a youth rally. Wreck on County Road Causes High Damages Near Dalton

A collision Tuesday night on a county road two miles west of Dalton caused about 800 dollars in damage. A 1939 Pontiac driven by Charles F. Wilson and a 1950 Chevrolet pickup driven by James Thompson were involved after Wilson stopped on the eastbound shoulder and Thompson, blinded by oncoming lights, struck the parked car and rake. No injuries were reported.

Equipment Is Moving In For Fine No 1

Equipment was being moved to location Wednesday to drill the Fine No. 1, six miles west and three north of Sidney. The land is owned by Leon Fine Details. Free Chest X Rays Reach Cheyenne County in Mobile Unit

The transportable X-ray unit began in Lodgepole with over 200 residents served by the Tuberculosis Survey Division of the Nebraska Health Department. Sponsored by the Sidney Business and Professional Women's Club, the service offers free reports within about a minute of exposure. The schedule moves to Sidney, Sioux Ordnance Depot, Potter, Gurley, and Dalton from late November to December, with hours 9 to 12 and 1 to 5, except Saturdays mornings only.

Stanley Sentenced For Embezzlement

Evigene Stanley, Salvation Army representative, pled guilty in Cheyenne Court to embezzling funds collected in Sidney. Authorities altered the complaint to a misdemeanor after determining he spent about nine dollars of the funds. County Judge Robert A. Barlow fined him ten dollars plus costs and ordered 30 days in jail.

Scout Camp Dates Decided by Wyo Braska Council

The Wyo Braska council Boy Scouts set five camping periods at Scottsbluff. Three camps will be at Laramie Peak on June 10-16, June 17-23, June 24-30, and two at Little America near Crawford on July 8-14 and July 15-21. An Explorer Scouts expedition to Philmont Ranch near Raton New Mexico is planned June 14 to July 1 for three groups of ten Scouts each with a leader.
