A west bound mail plane on the transcontinental Omaha route landed at Sidney emergency field shortly after six on Monday night due to heavy fog and high winds. Pilot Slim Lewis reported 40 mile gale and fog banks along the route. He expected to continue flight once the storm eased without transferring mail to trains.

Dalton Couple Celebrate Thirtieth Wedding Day
The Dalton couple Mr and Mrs J C Mauer marked 30 years of marriage with a gathering last Friday the 11th attended by 19 relatives and seven grandchildren at their home. Mr Mauer recalled arriving in the county in 1888 and tending 1500 sheep and stage horses on the Nine Mile ranch north of Minatare. The couple were wed by Rev Mullis in Bayard and were the 505th marriage by that minister.

City Extends Its Steam Main to Phone Building
City employees started laying steam pipe mains to the Northwestern Bell Telephone building under construction. The street main connects 20 feet south of Second Street, runs down First Avenue west for 107 feet to opposite the north half of the telephone lots.
