Mother Injured In Auto Crash Still In Critical Condition
A fatal car truck collision on Highway 19 near Gurley last Saturday killed a 33 year old building contractor and two of his three children while an 18 month old child and Mrs. Scott survived. Funeral services are set for Arthur Scott and the two children Karen Jo and Edwin Arthur. Officials say the investigation is essentially complete though it remains unclear if further inquiry will be conducted. The wreck occurred on snow packed roads as the Scott family returned from the North Platte Valley. The death toll for Cheyenne County nears a year total eight four, with Safety Patrol reporting no new accidents since Monday.

Two Oil Rig Workers Burned In Gas Explosion
Two oil rig workers were burned in a butane gas explosion at a drilling site south of Dix. John Klassen, 27, of Sterling, suffered first and second degree burns on the face and hands and was treated at Cheyenne County Memorial Hospital. William Johnson, also of Sterling, was burned but less severely and released. Both are employed by Wentworth Drilling Co.
