A Community Thanksgiving Service is scheduled for Wednesday at 7 30 PM at First Methodist Church in Sidney under the Sidney Ministers Association. Five Cheyenne County high schools will be represented in the Jaycees Voice of Democracy contest at 2 p.m. in the Sidney high scene auditorium. Winners from Pouter Dalton Lodge Pole Sidney high and St Patrick's will compete for state eligibility on December 6. Prizes go to the top three winners and each school champion receives a gift. Marilyn Portz of St Patrick's won last year. The topic is I Speak For Democracy.

Dalton farmer Hugh Foy 76 dies after short illness
Hugh Foy 76 a Dalton farmer died Saturday afternoon in Cheyenne County memorial Hospital after a brief illness. Funeral at St Mary's Dalton Wednesday at 9 30 with burial in Greenwood Sidney. He was born July 12 1880 near Snyder and leaves three daughters Margaret Ann Denver Mary Kauffman and LaVerne Washauer and son Edward J of Sidney plus a sister and a brother. He was a longtime Farmers Mutual Home Insurance representative and a member of the Knights of Columbus St Mary's Church and the Catholic Order of Foresters. Memorials to St Mary's Church are suggested.
