First Payment On Beets Set For Thursday
The Great Western Sugar Company will pay $29,515,000 to sugar beet growers in Colorado, Nebraska, Wyoming and Montana as the first 1947 crop payment this Thursday. President Frank W. A Kimball County jury after over 12 hours deliberating found Marvin Frank, 19, guilty of assault with intent to rape Clara May Buddecke, 17. Truck Maintainer Involved In Sidney Area Accident
A dairy milk truck and a Cheyenne county maintainer collided five miles south of Sidney on a county road Saturday morning. Maintainer Silas L. Rose turned into a farm lane and a Hands Dairy truck driven by Sam C. Ramsey could not see in time due to an incline and trees. Estimated $75 damage to the milk truck. no damage to the maintainer. A few bottles of milk were broken. Sheriff Schulz Deputy Braasch and County Engineer Ahlms investigated.

Two Injured In Highway 30 Wreck Near Brownson
Two men suffered serious injuries in a Thursday afternoon crash two miles west of Brownson on Highway 30. Rudolph Zierke of Oakland owned the Jeep with three hitchhikers. Robert Mills of Williamsfort drove and slept at the wheel, sending the car into a ditch. Zierke, injured most severely, had a concussion and severe lacerations. Mills sustained leg lacerations and contusions. Both were treated at Taylor Hospital. Mills was discharged. Estimated damage to the wagon about 400 dollars.
