Moore says the purpose is to acquaint REA stockholders and others with the program for the vast area under the Sidney office. Miss Eva Carter 63 died Monday after two years of ill health. Funeral services were held at the Lodgepole Methodist Church with Rev. Stephens officiating. Interment was at Lodgepole Cemetery. She taught Cheyenne County rural schools for thirty years and is survived by brothers Vincent Clarence Grace and several sisters in Nebraska Iowa Washington Utah and Colorado.

Schwasnick a Sidney business figure since 1926 founder and owner of The Star Packing and Cold Storage Co. survived by his wife two daughters and many relatives.

Deputy Sheriff Arnold Braasch collected a young buck hit by an automobile at Point of Rock seventeen miles west of Sidney. The carcass was sent to the Star Packing plant for dressing. Disposal plans were not announced.

Sidney Business and Professional Women’s club met at Hazel’s Cafe to plan the annual Christmas Seal campaign starting November 24. Miss Mabel Nielen said about 1200 letters with seals will be mailed after receiving materials from national headquarters. Verna Repinson announced nearly 2,000 safety books will be distributed to Sidney school students and BPW will seek Junior Chamber collaboration on bicycle safety.

William Hagemeister 71 prominent Potter resident died Tuesday at Rocky Mountain hospital in Denver after tremic poisoning following a prior operation. Services Saturday at 2:30 pm at Potter Methodist Church, burial in Potter cemetery. Gene Slattery age 15 is known for auctioning shirts for charity. He has sold 73 shirts since age nine, raising thousands for Servicemen's Canteen, Red Cross, March of Dimes, Community Chests and cancer funds. A shirt donated by Claudia Billig of Milwaukee raised 140 dollars in a Tuesday night sale for a cancer fund. Gene lives on a ranch near Paxton, Nebraska, attends Roscoe school, and has drawn coverage in Holland papers and the Saturday Evening Post. Suspect Held on Forgery Charge in Sidney Case
Cecil C. McCoy 57 of Bridgeport was arrested at the Central Hotel and charged with forging the name of A. J. Sargent on two checks totaling 38.20, cashed by L. O. Hoppes. He admitted the forgery, has prior offenses in 1944 and 1946, and was released from Nebraska State Penitentiary in March after a June 1946 confinement. He was employed by Mr. Sargent until about two weeks ago.
