Rev. Clarence Boye, St Pauls Lutheran Church Sidney, will leave for California to help establish a new church in a northeast Sacramento suburb. The church plans to call Rev. Tons Of Steel Ease Into Place At Gurley Plant
The Egging Co at Gurley installed a 14 ton bridge crane spanning 140 feet with a side to side moving car and two five ton hoists to accelerate handling of iron and steel. The new 160 by 40 foot storage wing will house heavy metal, allow on site cutting, and will be enclosed with metal siding. Siding began Tuesday with enclosure expected in a week or so then wiring and interior setup follow. Ted Egging praised the project as meeting a long felt need and promised the facility will handle more steel than they can currently afford.

Growers in the Ovid factory district will receive over 1 654 400 for beets delivered through November 4 covering about 89 percent of the crop. An estimated 1 200 tons remain to be harvested by eight growers in Dorsey Sedgwick Ogallala Hershey and North Platte areas. The area yields about 13 1/2 tons per acre with 16.1 percent sugar content. Average payment to Ovid growers is 9 69 per ton. More than 14 000 acres were damaged by hail and flooding from the June flood caused heavy tonnage loss. about 900 acres from Crook to Maxwell were lost to floodwaters.

The Department of Labor and Health, Education and Welfare approved 501,416 to train 205 unemployed or underemployed persons at the Sidney Occupational Training Center, Sioux Army Depot, under the Manpower Development and Training Act. The Sidney Livestock Sales Pavilion plans a Charolais sale Friday November 19 with about 1 000 calves yearlings and cows listed. Morris Boney of Alta Iowa an auctioneer specializing in Charolais will conduct the sale. The pavilion will also hold its regular Saturday sale with cattle and hogs.
