Alfred Wilson Rites Set For Wednesday
Alfred A. Wilson 73 died November 13 at Memorial Hospital in Sidney after a long illness. Services are Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Craig Mortuary with Rev. Donald Ruhl officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. He was born June 30 1892 in Union City Missouri, the eldest of five children. A U S Army veteran, he served in the Medical Corps in World War I and received the Victory Medal. He married Ara Ona Dean on July 10 1919. He retired after 44 years with Union Pacific and moved to Sidney in 1964. He was active in Woodmen, VFW, American Legion, Masonic Lodge, Union Pacific Old Timers Club and the Methodist Church. Surviving: wife Ava. daughters Marjorie Abbott of Gadsden Arizona and Ruth Kimball of Omaha Nebraska. son James of Cheyenne Wyoming. four grandchildren. two brothers Lemuel and Marion Wilson of Exeter California. two sisters Minnie Thompson and Lola Campbell of Weldona Colorado, and other relatives. A granddaughter Bonnie Ruth Kimball died in 1953.
