Revival meetings at Christian church draw strong interest
Evangelist Floyd John Evans leads revival at the Christian church with growing conversions and plans for a baptismal service Friday night. Attendance remains high despite bad weather as Evans earns a reputation as a leading speaker in Sidney. Singer Professor Daniels pleases crowds with solo work. Friday features Evans with the railroad sermon drawing railroad workers and friends. Ivanell Brass recites, Cy Wyman and R.G. Eingeer contribute poems, and a children’s chorus appears Friday and Saturday with a Ribbon drill. Three Sunday sermons promise broad participation before the Quinn family departs for Omaha for Mrs. Quinn’s appendicitis operation.

Musical Recital by Sidney Public School Students
A musical program directed by Mr. Lewis will be held next Friday evening in the high school auditorium. Spirit of Building Takes Strong Hold in Sidney
After a year of planning the Methodist church group voted to construct a brick church and parsonage at the northwest corner of the court house square. Architect J. R. Smith of Lincoln visited with the pastor and trustees as plans were adopted for a 52 by 86 foot east facing building seating 500, plus a modern eight room parsonage and sixteen class rooms for Sunday school and social use.

Simonson Freed By Governor Pardon In Cheyenne County
Ole Simonson, once an accessory in a horse theft case, returned to Sidney a free man after a gubernatorial clemency. A petition signed by many Cheyenne County residents argued evidence did not warrant further punishment and cited his wife’s serious condition and need for him at home to care for five children. The petition also noted parole for the principal offender, Ernes Dullaghan, had been granted previously.
