A six member fusion of mystery and music comes to the Ideal Theatre next Sunday and Monday nights. Cunning and Co. recently headlined a week at the Empress Theatre in Denver offering two hours of clean entertainment alongside the regular picture show. Prices are 25 and 35 cents.
J J McIntosh nears normal health after ten days of home care. Four year old Dale Braham son of Professor and Mrs Braham slowly improves from colitis. Mrs T B Quinn operat ed in Omaha for appendicitis shows satisfactory improvement. D J Davis badly injured in a weekend auto crash rests comfortably though slow to recover. City Council met in regular session with Mayor J L McIntosh and five councilors present. Grants were given for two new residences in Krueger addition. Officers referred water main extensions, debris removal on main streets, and lease requests for coal sheds to committees. sidewalk work, electric lighting, street light repairs, impounding horses, manhole repairs, and gambling suppression were addressed. C P Chambers joined the water and light committee. Council adjourned.
The county treasurer held the delinquent tax sale on November 6, among the year’s most successful events. Bidders arrived from Chicago, Minnesota, and Cheyenne, alongside local residents. Most properties were two to three years delinquent, with many cleared. Tax title holders receive a fifteen percent return until redemption, covering both city and county delinquencies.
Thanksgiving turkey sale announced by Punyeus County Trading offering live birds at 20 cents per pound. Local shoppers urged to place orders early as crowds expected.

Mrs C L Mann was hostess for the Kings Daughters Wednesday afternoon. Sophia Gould resigned from local Telephone board and is keeping house for relatives. Mrs C W Smith Mrs John Doherty and Mrs Will Jewatt were a shopping party from the east part of the county in Sidney Tuesday. John Owens returned from Missouri for a brother’s funeral. Brother was a contractor and builder. Mrs Clyde Johnson and little son joined husband in Sidney from Colorado homestead. Mr and Mrs Bees and little son Brick and Mrs G Nelson came from Denver to Sidney visiting Mrs O E Frandsen last week.
L. H. Hazel, manager of the social office for the Trans-Missippi Grain Co., spent the week in Omaha attending the Nebraska Farmers Cooperative Grain and Live Stock Association gathering.
Lester Hand hosted a farewell to autumn gathering at his home with guests enjoying food and merriment into a late hour. Evangelical John Floyd Evans left Monday for Red Cloud Nebraska to conduct revival meetings with Gardner R Miller continuing the efforts in the Christian church nightly.

Dp. J. Davis, a well known citizen, was struck by a passing car at the crossing between the Capital saloon and the Sidney Mercantile corner. The injury was serious, with a wrenching of the hips and left groin ligaments, and a badly wrenched right arm. Davis was taken to Conner's rooms then to Harry Selch's home. he hopes to move to Lodgepole later. George Fitton of Peetz, Colorado, the driver, faced intoxication accusations but left $100 with Davis and departed. Observers say the driver was speeding and turning too quickly, and town traffic rules must be observed to prevent worse accidents.
William A Hornaday born near Hamilton Ohio November 24 1845 died at his Sidney Nebraska home November aged 70 years 11 months 27 days. He served four years in the Civil War including time in Andersonville prison. He married Mary E Williams July 27 1867 and lived near Richmond Indiana before moving to Cheyenne County Nebraska in 1893. He left a wife six children two sisters and many friends. Funeral at Methodist church with Reverends L B Lewis and lay orders. Grand Army of the Republic and Masonic Lodge attended. pallbearers named A K Greenlee J J Parks F Mann F N Woolridge A S Ayle B W Frazey.
Moses P. Kinkaid, M. D., rolled up a remarkable 11,241 plurality in all counties of his district. The result stands as the most gratifying showing in a year when the state and nation voted heavily Democratic. Ed McDermott, his opponent, ran a thorough campaign. The majority this year exceeds the previous by 1500, though figures are unofficial but undisputed.
The Garnegie Library Board met Tuesday in regular session and advanced toward occupying the building designed for that purpose. Items discussed were disposed of and other matters handled profitably as the project moves toward success.
Nebraska Telephone Company officials led by General Plant Sup t A A Lowman and Division Plant Sup t E I Hannah visited Sidney to study needs for the coming year. Plans call for enlarging quarters in the McIntosh building, reorganizing space, and adding two new switchboard sections at an estimated 3000 dollars. The expansion aims to handle a growing local business, with ongoing inspections of city telephones and Central office equipment. Local staff including R G Smith, Ruby Griggs, and Ben Carlon remain on company business in the city.
John Anderson of Sextorp and Miss Pearl Mabel Matilda Ladine wed November 22 by Rev W C Donaldson at the Lutheran church. Attendants were Joseph and Agnes Ladine, bride’s siblings. The bride is the second daughter of Mr and Mrs Andy Ladine of the north divide. groom a ranch man of Sextorp. Telegraph wishes them happiness.
William Runyon of Burdette Colorado and Ruth Morton of Creed Colorado received a license to wed on November 22 with no marriage return on file.
Carl Albert Samuelson and Evelyn Emma Huebsch, both of Denver, were married at Hee Rort parsonage Thursday November 16 at 7 p.m. The couple stayed the night in the city and returned to Denver to begin their life together at home.
James Fitzgerald vot Omaha and Minnie J. Clay of Little Bear Wyoming wed at the Methodist parsonage in Sidney Nebraska on November 22 1916. Rev L E Lewis of the M E church presided. They plan to reside in Cheyenne Wyoming.
