Red Cross Fund Watch Auction at Marsh Jewelers

A watch valued at 44 dollars will be auctioned Saturday afternoon November 24 at 2 30 in front of Marsh Jewelry to benefit the Red Cross fund. The sale welcomes other items for the same cause. Virgil Marsh, with 25 years as an auctioneer, will donate the watch and handle the sale, offering rings and other jewelry for brides.

Children Spilled When Bolting Horse Breaks Fence

A group of schoolchildren riding home in a horse drawn buggy were scattered across the prairie after their horse bolted at night upon meeting a moving auto with flapping canvas curtains. Justin Swatzlander suffered a facial cut and shock, kept in bed for days. others were unhurt.

Sidney School Operetta and Song Service at Tobin Opera House

Pupils from Sidney graded schools performed an art song service and the operetta Little Red Riding Hood under music supervisor Mr Lewis and Evelyn Doran. Selections featured Naomi Fishman, Norine Dedrick, Catherine King, James Daugherty, Clarence Mills, Willie Jones, Virginia Scott, Marjorie Wright, May Breternitz, Arthur Daugherty, with praise for discipline, singing, and stage presence. Audience applauded generously and calls for another performance followed.

A county Y M C A drive to raise 2500 dollars began Wednesday with each town and precinct allotted share. Meeting at the court house last Friday outlined government work by Mr. Smith of Omaha and Mr. Matheny of Scotts Bluff. Readiness huts provide soldiers with reading, baths, gymnastics, games, lectures and study behind the fighting line.
