A parade from Central school moved through Main Street to the U S A theatre where attendees heard invocations, sang America, and observed taps at 11 o clock.

Liquor Possession Charge Fined After Huntsman Dance
Lorenz Seimers was arrested by Sheriff Nelson and deputies at a Huntsman north of the city during a dedication dance. He posted 200 bond, appeared Monday before Judge Kahl, pleaded guilty to possession of liquor, and paid a 100 fine plus costs. The dance was in a new Huntsman building slated as a general store.

A Sunday evening crash near Bronson involved Rev Crawford driving the Chevrolet of the Sidney Episcopal church and the Reo Flying Cloud owned by Peter Hansen. All occupants escaped injury. The Hansen car veered into a ditch and up an opposite bank but was not seriously damaged. Crawford offered to pay repairs and did so.

Farm leaders split over McNary-Haugen relief plan
Washington November 10 three major farm groups failed to agree on a compromise to the vetoed McNary-Haugen measure. Delegates from the National Grange American Farm Bureau Federation and the Farmers Union left without a common proposal while Senator McNary and farm leaders continued talks. The conflict centers on an equalization fee opposed by Grange advocates who favor export dementure funded through tariff receipts. An outline was left at the White House.

Lorena Trickey Rodeo Cowgirl Freed by Jury in Murder Case
Lorena Trickey, a rodeo cowgirl from Lakeview Oregon, was found not guilty of murdering J. P. Harris after a twenty minute jury deliberation. Harris, her common law husband and rodeo colleague, was killed by a knife in a car near a cattle town after disputes and threats of leaving her. Trickey testified she acted in self defense to escape Harris who pursued her as jealous rivals and lovers clashed.

Small Fire Levels Damage at Larson Home in Sidney
Sidney fire crews were called after an alarm at 600 First Avenue West. A small blaze, likely from sanding debris tossed into a waste bucket, spread to a closet door near a basket but was put out by Mr. Larson with a few pails of water before major damage. Mrs. Larson stayed awake for her son William and alerted others when smoke odors arose.

Father of Dean Crawford Dies in Chicago
Rev J J Crawford receives word that his father George Crawford died in a Chicago hospital after a brief illness. He was 78 and long a veteran newspaper publisher from Mineral Point Wisconsin, retiring years ago. Funeral is Friday with three sons surviving Dean Crawford traveling from Mineral Point to attend.

November report from state and federal agriculture statistics shows corn average 33 bushels per acre and 281,972,000 bushels total production. Potatoes and sugar beets post strong yields with flax and grain sorghum also good. Frost damaged some northwest and north central Nebraska, but most corn yields remain high with 89 percent longer growing season and high test weights for winter wheat around 59.3 pounds.

Grateful Potter Hotel Proprieter Hosts Firefighters Banquet
About twenty firemen and others who helped extinguish a Wells cafe and hotel fire at Potter last summer were honored Friday evening in a banquet hosted by Harry Wells. The fire department contained the blaze quickly, allowing meals to be served without disruption. Wells expressed gratitude and offered future treats to the department.

Severe Penalty in Kimball County Court
Red Johnson of Kimball received a harsh sentence after taking an automobile without permission. He caused a crash injuring a woman driver and wrecked the vehicle he was driving. He must serve 60 days in county jail with 20 days bread and water, pay a $100 fine, and not drive for one year. An outside judge presided due to County Judge Vogler’s illness.

Sidney Gridsters Defeat Kimball in County Court
In county court Judge Elmer Kahl sentenced Ralph Simpson after pleading guilty to intoxication following a November 9 Dalton highway crash. Two counts were charged. liquor possession was dropped.
