Sidney Nebraska to vote on 300000 school bond issue

A special election is set for Tuesday November 18 in Sidney Cheyenne County Nebraska to decide a 300000 bond issue to build a new school in the district and add to the North Side School. The plan calls for furniture repairs and a tax levy to pay interest and principal. Polling places are the City Auditorium McCormick Deering East Ward School and North Ward School with eight to eight hours voting.

Nazarenes To Convene Here In Sidney Convention Dates Shift

The mid year Church of the Nazarene gathering moves to November 18 to 20 in Sidney with Rev. C. B. Johnson hosting. Dr. Hugh C. Benner will lead sessions as general superintendent from Kansas City, aided by Dr. J. E. Aycock and district officials. The program remains largely unchanged with daily services and meetings.

Hospital Fund Hits 150000 As Donations Grow

General sales workers reported 14210 in the first twenty four hours of solicitation at the community hospital campaign luncheon. With 136895 in advanced gifts, the total reaches 151105, half of the 300000 goal. A noon luncheon will be held at the City Auditorium to push past 30000 in two days. Indians Bound Over On Assault Charges

Two Indians linked to the brutal beatings of Kimball women Mrs. John Eby and Mrs. Belva Cole were bound over to the Simball District Court after a county court preliminary hearing. Thomas Blackfeet 20 of Porcupine SD faces kidnapping assault with intent to murder and intent to cause great bodily harm charges. Douglas Horse 25 of Kimball is charged with aiding and abetting on all counts.

J R Kenner Elected President Of Nebraska Conservation Foundation

The Nebraska Conservation Foundation elected J R Kenner of Hebron as president. A J Jorgenson of Sidney was named first vice president and W J Coad Sr of Omaha became second vice president. John Davis of Omaha joins as secretary treasurer with R E Campbell of Lincoln and Coad named to the board as industry directors. Robert Voss of Fremont was elected a banker representative. Kenner also serves as banker on the board.

One Injured On 30 In Accident Thursday

A truck car collision on Highway 30 near Sidney left Walter A. Bickel of Fort Wayne Ind with a fractured right wrist. Fernand Desmaison of Evanston Ill drove the stalled 1952 Pontiac at the junction with Highway 19 causing the crash. The Kenosha Auto Transport truck and two loaded International pickups were involved.

Sidney National Bank to Open in Former Fox Theatre

Formal opening planned in Sidney this Saturday at nine oclock in the morning. The Sidney National Bank operates in the old Fox theatre building on Illinois Street after extensive remodeling. It carries a 200000 dollar capital with 75000 dollar surplus and 25000 dollars in undivided profits. Clarence Castner will be executive vice president and manager, with officers including Charles N. Deaver and Carl Christ Sr. and others. A 100000 dollar blanket bond is in place for depositor protection. Public invited to visit with hours nine to three and seven to nine.
