Mrs Clare Williams assistant chairman of the Republican National Committee visits Sidney for a tea at the Fort Sidney Motor Hotel as part of a five stop Monday 700 mile tour across 16 Nebraska communities. Panhandle Wheat Shipped Overseas To Boost Nebraska Market

Thirteen counties in Nebraska joined the Nebraska Wheat Growers Assn to ship 1 662 bushels of Panhandle wheat to Ogallala for quality demonstration. Farmers donated 100 pounds each, with Cheyenne County leading in both farmer count and bushels. Wheat will be cleaned, bagged, and sent insured to foreign offices in Rotterdam Lima Peru New Delhi for evaluation.

Minden Youth Speaks at Rotary Meeting Monday

William Spilker of Minden Nebraska returns from a Rotary Foundation study in New Zealand to address the Fort Sidney Rotary Club. The talk notes Rotary Foundation Week as Rotarians in 114 countries mark the observance. Spilker is a Foundation fellow and Nebraskan alumnus of the University of Nebraska College of Agriculture.

Ohio to Build Natural Gas Plant in Michigan Fields

Ohio Oil Company will lead a 25 million cubic feet daily natural gas processing plant south of Pulaski in Hillsdale County Michigan. The facility aims for completion by mid-1960 and will process wet casing head gas from Serio Pulaski and Albion fields with refrigeration to extract butane and natural gasoline mixtures. Gathering lines will bring unprocessed gas from nearby wells.

SHS Junior Class Play Slated For Showing Nov 19 20

The annual Junior Class play at SHS will be presented for public viewing Friday November 20 at 8 pm in the school auditorium. Matinees are November 19 at 9 30 am and 1 30 pm. Ohio Oil’s No 1 Graff in Cheyenne County shows 180 feet clean oil and 180 feet oil cut mud. Frei Field’s No 1 producer yields strong oil shows. five new locations listed including Strandberg No 1 and Reimers No 1 wildcat. Pile No 1 in Banner County yields 1500 feet oil from 6150 to 6181 feet with 326 feet mud cut and 420 feet water as Kimball County remains quiet.

Sidney Lions mark 30 years of service with anniversary program

About 150 Lions and spouses attended the Sidney Lions Club 30th anniversary program. Al A Shhock of Soon Falls SD delivered a fast moving speech on Lonism and Samas observations. Ralph Thompson hosted. Elmer Seyberg presented membership chairs. charter members honored include A L Jorgenson Paul To Moria Avako Wright. Jack Gibson received a 25 year award and 20 year awards went to M J Maher Maynard W Osborn. Other award recipients included Doyle Foland Kines Madsen MET Merritt Ralph Thompson and Clarence A Titska.

Curtis Urges Industrial Uses for Agr Surpluses and Attacks Castro

U.S. Senator Carl Curtis of Minden spent a 15 hour day in Sidney with a 6:30 breakfast at Sioux Ordnance Depot and talks at St Patrick’s Academy and Sidney High. He addressed Kimball County Republicans and a Fort Sidney Motor Hotel dinner, touting industrial uses for agricultural surpluses and opposing Castro policies while advocating a domestic parity approach for wheat. He recounted three years on the McClelland committee and noted the need to expand sugar acreage ahead of the Sugar Act expiration.

Musical Panorama Set For Sidney Men's Chorus Show

Sidney's 30 member Men's Chorus will perform a musical panorama Remember When on Friday and Saturday November 27 and 28 at the High School auditorium. The program follows a nostalgic journey from the Gay Nineties through WW I and the Roaring Twenties to the present day with the Dick Dotts trio scheduled for intermission.

Transfer of Dalton Native Becomes Pastor at St Patrick and Sacred Heart

Monsignor Thomas Sudowski, native of Dalton, is appointed pastor of St Patrick Church in North Platte and Sacred Heart Mission in Brady effective January 1900. The Grand Island Diocese also assigns Father Polster to Sacred Heart in Greeley and Bishop Pasenang notes Sudowski’s earlier service in Ord and Sid es. The moves follow Sudowski’s ordination in 1935 and leadership at St Mary School in Ord.
