Senator Curtis to speak at public dinner in Sidney
U. S. Senator Carl Curtis plans a full day in the Sidney area with breakfast at Sioux Ordnance Depot and tours of the ordnance works. He will address St Patrick Academy and Sidney High School, speak at Kimball noon luncheon, and hold 4 to 6 p.m. office hours at Fort Sidney before a 6 30 p.m. dinner at the Fort Sidney Motor Hotel. Curtis will discuss McClelland committee findings and labor racketeering and outline industrial uses for agricultural surpluses. Tickets available from J L Thorpe or W J Robinson or at door. He will be accompanied by administrative assistant Lynn Mote. He departs for Omaha Friday morning.

Don Schnell of Sidney is a member of VAH 4 at Whidbey Island Washington. The Heavy Attack unit won top honors on the West Coast and will represent the Pacific Fleet at the Fourth Annual Naval Air Weapons Meet in Yuma Arizona. Commander John J. Emanski led the squadron in bombing navigation radar bombing and maintenance to first place in the fleet derby. Don Schnell is a 1956 graduate of Sidney High School.
