A. R. LeSueur Dies in Sidney After Illness
A. R. LeSueur, longtime Sidney resident and former LeSueur Lumber Co. operator, died Monday about 10 a.m. in a local hospital after an emergency operation. He was 67. He came to Sidney forty years ago from Canada, worked with his uncle A Pease, built The Telegraph office, and later retired from active business. His daughter Doris of Boulder was to arrive later. The body was sent to The Craig Home for Funerals for funeral arrangements.

Mexican Nationals Sleep In Depot While Awaiting Train
More than a hundred Mexican nationals spent a week in the Burlington depot of Sidney unable to find lodging or transport to El Paso. The railroad lacked enough passenger cars to form a train, and regulations barred moving them to Sioux Ordnance Depot. County Agent William Bullock said they were contracted to help with beet and potato harvesting and hoped to be returned to Mexico at contract end. A War Foods Administration rep ensured meals, but heated shelter could not be provided.
