Accidents Reported By State Troopers No Injuries Noted
State Trooper Dan Reece logged two accidents this week with no injuries. At 9 20 a m Sunday a 1965 Ford pickup driven by Jerome Deaver and a 1967 International Scout driven by Ronald Rieken collided on a county road near Sidney causing $750 in damage. A second incident involved a 1959 Chevrolet pickup backing into a truck at the Sidney Farmers Union Co Op elevator with minor damage and no injuries. A separate two car crash on Highway 30 east of Sidney damaged a 1969 Ford and a 1970 Oldsmobile with no injuries.

Board Seeks PERC Financing Shift At Sidney School Board
The Sidney Board of Education discussed moving PERC financing to Unit 14 at the start of the 1971-72 term. The district proposes Unit 14 cover end costs of the three year federally funded program and approves a 50 enrollment fee plus 3.50 per student. The board also OK’d 13549 in general expenditures and a 2585 bid for a metal lathe for the vocational shop, with 40 percent federally funded. It approves 1754 monthly rental for Unit 14 space at East Ward School and plans for six board members plus Supt Pedersen to attend the Lincoln conference November 19-20.
