Former Barber Here Dies At Scottsbluff
George William Rasch aged 80 a Scottsbluff resident for twenty years died Monday in a local hospital. He formerly ran a Sidney barber shop before moving to Scottsbluff born June 30 1865 in Ithaca New York came to Omaha as a child and moved to Council Bluffs at age four. He married Rhoda Maves at Cedar Bluffs Neb on March 9 1889 and was a Methodist. Surviving are his wife two sons Roy Rasch of Portland Oregon John B Rasch of Portland a sister Amelia Haxby of Scottsbluff five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Thursday at 10 am.

Felix Grant of Chappell Dies at 83 in Sidney Hospital
Felix Grant, a prominent Chappell resident, died in a Sidney hospital on October 28 at age 83 and was buried in Sidney Catholic cemetery on Tuesday. He moved to Devel county in 1917, farming southwest of Chappell before retiring in 1923 to live in town. Survived by his wife and three sons.

Mrs Joe Gibson Dies in Sidney Based Ford Firm History
Mrs Joe A. Gibson, Sidney resident 1931 to 1938, died Tuesday in a Kimball hospital after a period as patient. Funeral services were held Thursday with burial in Kimball cemetery beside an infant Gibsons child. The Gibsons moved from Kimball to Sidney in 1931 to run the Ford dealership, Joe A. Gibson Inc., later operated by J. A. Heinlein. Mr Gibson also ran a garage and dealership in Kimball.

Car Wreck Hospitalizes Two Women In Potter Collision
A WAC, Mrs Pearl Bonine 42, was critically injured in a highway No 30 crash at Potter when her car hit a farm truck driven by Ranken Ewers 21. Companion Mrs Catherine Brown 48 suffered leg and body bruises as their car overturned after leaving the pavement. Both were taken to Roche Hospital.

Speeds Through Wreck Indiana Man Fined
Russell Lane of Indianapolis paid ten dollars and costs in county court on a reckless driving charge after speeding through the scene of a wreck at Potter. State Patrolman F E Hailey testified Lane drove at a dangerous rate. Lane claimed others did the same, but Hailey said it was impossible to handle the wreck investigation and pursue the others.

County to seek full time veterans service officer
Representatives of the county veterans service coordinating committee plan to ask the county board of commissioners next week to hire a full time veterans service officer. With more than 150 World War II veterans in the county, part time help is no longer sufficient. Brig. Gen. Guy N. Henninger notes the shortage of trained personnel to interpret current laws. The first instruction schools for county officers will be held at the Veterans hospital in Lincoln on November 28 to December 1. Forty six counties already have service committees.
