Orations were judged by instructors and the program featured Newton Wesley Gaines in a lecture New Wine In New Bottles. The Sidney High School class of 1908 was welcomed into the Alumni at a banquet at the Pacific House on May 28 1908. William Ritchie Jr served as toast master and speakers included Miss Chase Miss Grace King Clayton Radcliffe W R Pate Nannie Anderson Don Ahrens Lena Jessen and E M Cline with topics ranging from Our Alumni to Senior Symptoms and Recollections. Sidney juniors outpace seniors in senior banquet pace
Juniors from Sidney high school outdid the seniors at a May 21 banquet held at the McLernon home. A vocal quartet by the seniors and a piano solo opened the evening, followed by a lavish banquet at the Pacific house. Russell Dedrick led witty toasts as the younger set carried out bold plans beyond the seasoned group.

Infant Myron Atking Born to Hugh Moore Family
May fifteenth a son was born to Hugh Moore and his wife north of the city. The infant Myron Atking lived one day before passing away. Rev. L F Gunderman led brief funeral services at the house Saturday the 16th. Sympathy is offered to the grieving parents.

The estate of Ellen Bates of Lodgepole was settled this week with several relatives present. A marriage license was issued Monday to Melvin Donley and Gertrude Bitting of Bayard. The Lodgepole assault case Geo Line v Engelert and Frank Friend brought $10 fines per defendant. State v Namath for disturbing peace imposed $20 fine plus $22 costs. $15 remitted. State v Tobin heard Thursday. six jurors plus several witnesses. jury found for defendant. County Attorney Gapen and Miles & McIntosh represented Tobin.
