Sidney High Raiders set track season records in 1970
Sidney High School Raiders under coach Dick Osterday posted a standout 1970 track season. Jim Holechek led in scoring with 115 1/4 points, followed by Chuck Wait with 108 and Mike O’Halloran with 90½. The team won the Class B state title for the second straight year and captured seven titles across invitational events. The season featured new school records in eight events including the 880 relay and multiple hurdle marks.

Little League Summer Baseball Kickoff In Sidney
The season opens next week with A Minor nine to ten year olds Major League eleven to twelve year olds and Pony League thirteen to fourteen. Major League games begin Tuesday June 2 with five matchups at Lions Rotary Grabill and Kiwanis Fields and a Friday June 5 slate at Grabill Kiwanis Lions and Rotary Fields all games at 5 30 pm with a 6 45 pm cap on innings.

Chamberlin Named Executive Secretary of NSAA
Leslie T. Chamberlin, longtime NSAA Board of Control member and nine year governing board veteran, is named executive secretary to replace retiring C. C. Thompson. At 59, he will resign as Alliance High School principal after ten years. An assistant secretary may be hired soon to handle expanded NSAA activities including girls athletics next year.
